NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING/AUCTION ON SALE OF REAL PROPERTY

 

 

One .13-acre lot located at 1507 6th Avenue, Belle Plaine, Iowa – parcel #03038300

 

Legal Description is as follows:

 

The North 4 feet of the South 130 feet of Lot Five (5), Block One (1), Sub-Division “E” of the Southeast Quarter (SE¼) of the Northeast Quarter (NE¼) of Section nineteen (19), Township Eighty-two (82) North, Range Twelve (12) West of the 5th P.M.  -AND-  Commencing at the Northwest (NW) corner of Lot One (1), Block One (1), Sub-Division “E” of the Southeast Quarter (SE¼) of the Northeast Quarter (NE¼) of Section Nineteen (19), Township Eighty-two (82) North, Range Twelve (12) West of the 5th P.M., thence South along the West line of said Lot One (1), 20 feet, thence East 24 feet, thence North 20 feet, thence West 24 feet to the point of beginning.

 

      There is a public hearing scheduled for Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at six thirty (6:30) P.M. or shortly thereafter in the Council Chambers at 1207 8th Avenue Belle Plaine, Iowa.  Bids will be taken for sale of property as follows:

 

  1. The property will be sold AS IS by Quit Claim deed and no abstract will be provided.
  2. The property is sold “AS IS” and the environmental condition of the site is unknown.
  3. An opening bid of $5,000 will be required at the public hearing/auction of the property, where bids will be taken and the highest bid greater than $5,000 may be accepted. Bids will increase in $250 increments.
  4. The purchaser shall be responsible for payment of all costs of sale including but not limited to cost for publication and recording of all sales procedures and documents of title.
  5. The city shall retain all existing easements on, under and over the property as needed for utilities.
  6. Earnest money of $500 to be paid to Kollmorgen, Schlue & Zahradnik Trust account within 24 hours of passage of a resolution approving sale.

Parcel commencing One hundred Twenty Five feet (125’) East of the Northwest Corner of Lot Two (2), Block Three (3), thence East Forty-five feet (45’), thence South One Hundred feet (100’) to the Point of Beginning, all in Hutton’s Addition to the Town of Belle Plaine, Benton County, Iowa, also known as: the North One hundred feet (100’) of the East Forty five feet (45’), of the West One hundred seventy feet (170’) of Lot Two (2), Block Three (3), Hutton’s Addition to Belle Plaine, Iowa.
